Camp Holiday Trails

The 24th running of this popular spring race was met with brisk March winds, which made the going tough for the 175 participants.  Despite the tough conditions, many of the racers sped to excellent times over the well worn Lewis Mountain neighborhood course including many of our fellow members.

Age group blue ribbons were awarded to the following CTC racers:  Anna Castle (50-54), Janet Pearson (55-59), Nancy Fraser (70+), Pete Runge (35-39), Richard Young (50-54), and Phil Halapin (55-59).

Other CTC times of note were clocked by Lonnie Murray, Andrew Hersey, George Gillies, Albert Connette, Ethan Cole and Wendell Golden.  

The biggest winner of all was the Camp where each summer dozens of youth with special health needs are treated to a wonderful outdoor experience.  A big tip of the cap to all of the 2nd year UVA medical students, who for the 24th straight year organized this popular community footrace.  This year’s event raised $2,700 for the cause.
